Police reported they were contacted by a individual who found a automobile in Hanau covered with reddish fluid

Approximately fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Cars, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.

Police report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.

The substance had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Police then discovered numerous other vandalized vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement state early analysis indicate the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no clue as to its source; investigators are not yet aware of any physical harm in connection with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials announced they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the community for information.

A high-ranking official stated the incident left him speechless and required to be resolved quickly.

"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on social media, referring to the death of nine individuals by a gunman targeting residents of migrant background in February 2020.
