19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard courts
A comeback Medvedev won his initial championship for over two years with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
Medvedev, a former number one, has endured a challenging period, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with former trainer his previous coach.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks the player's initial trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface from spring of 2023.
Success also means Medvedev has won 21 victories at 21 distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters together, so to get a trophy is particularly special," said world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my first daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six finals, including in that event previously this season.
The player's defensive approach and recurring emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his ability to compete at the elite level was concluded.
But the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and play assertively, backed up by an better serve.
He recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped break points in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his first ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
Moutet rescued four early break points in a close final set before the Russian broke to 15 to secure the win.
Fittingly, the winner clinched victory with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
